God's Faithfulness and Manifold Blessings

photo

By: Romeo C. Niere, Director, Sowers South East Asia, seen here with the kids of Haven of Hope orphanage in the Philippines.

I experienced greatly God's faithfulness and His blessings as I direct the work of the Lord in the Philippines and Thailand for the following reasons:

Dedication and Commitment of Our Workers In spite of all the hardships and trials they face daily, yet they are joyfully serving the Lord. God has been faithful in providing for the needs of the ministries and for raising supporters for new projects.

Advance of the Work In Digos, Davao Del Sur, Philippines The work is primarily focused on church planting. They are now starting a church planting work in Balic-Balic, an outreach of the church in Guihing. The members where utilized and mobilized to do the visitation, evangelism and witnessing.

Mercy & Muslim Ministries The Haven of Hope Orphanage in the Philippines as well as the Preschool, feeding and bible studies with the young teens and youth in the Muslim village is doing great. They started their small group fellowship among Muslim believers every other Sunday.

Thailand Ministries In Thailand, English Bible studies are conducted, and worship is going on in Ao Nang, attended by Europeans, Filipinos, as well as Thai nationals. Most of them are our students who are learning English from our English Language School in Krabi.

Marvelously, the Lord is honored in His field of harvest. To God Be the Glory! Thank you for your prayers and financial support. Please pray for me as I lead the work.

Whenever I hear the phrase "Man of God" I think of Jerry. He is the clearest definition of what the phrase means. On Sunday, April 10. 2011 at 3:58 am, CDT Jerry went home to be with the Lord for eternity.
As I try to think of what to say about him I feel like it is like trying to come up with my favorite bible verse... there are so many it is hard to choose just one. Jerry was a great husband, father and grandfather, Seminary professor, Discipler & missionary, to name a few, but for me I think the most important is he was an evangelist. Sharing the gospel, leading people to Christ, was at the core of his existence and fed into all that he did. His passion for the lost was infectious!

In 1974 this passion led him to reach out to a couple of drugged out American hippies in Quito, Ecuador where he & his wife Nancy and their family were serving the Lord as missionaries. My wife Pooka & I were those two lost souls he loved into the Kingdom. It was his passion & love for the Lord that was so appealing to us. He was the first person in our lives who loved us unconditionally. He would show up with that big grin and say “How’s it goin’?” and give us the sense that he really wanted to know, and he really did care.

We are two of thousands that his life has touched. I could go on for hours but space here is limited. Suffice it to say that the Kingdom has lost a great warrior, but his life was huge! The earth is a better place because he was in it.
